Hofpoldersingel

de Hofpolder ten zuiden van Zoeterwoude, gesticht in 1610. De naam van de polder werd toen nog niet genoemd. Wel komt de naam 'Hoff lants polder' voor op een kaart uit 1615. Met het oog op een doelmatiger en effectiever waterbeheer zijn vanaf 1979 stapsgewijs alle polders binnen Rijnland opgeheven en samengevoegd, een proces dat in 2005 is voltooid. De Hofpolder maakt tegenwoordig deel uit van het hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland.
