  gtm:genoemdNaar "Genoemd naar Conrad Busken Huet (1826 - 1886), een Nederlandse literatuurcriticus, essayist en romanschrijver. Zijn grootste kracht lag in de letterkundige kritiek. Hij leverde vlijmscherpe kritiek, soms op spottende toon, waarbij hij gevestigde schrijvers niet spaarde. Huet was aanvankelijk Waals predikant in Haarlem, maar kwam door zijn moderne opvattingen in conflict met zijn gemeente. Hij nam ontslag en trad in 1863 toe tot de redactie van het literaire tijdschrift 'De Gids'. Na een conflict binnen de redactie vertrok hij in 1868 naar Nederlandsch-Indië. Daar was hij werkzaam in de journalistiek en stichtte op Java het 'Algemeen Dagblad van Nederlandsch-Indië'. In 1878 keerde hij terug naar Europa en vestigde zich in Parijs. Zijn bekendste werken zijn 'Het Land van Rembrand' en zijn 26-delige 'Litterarische fantasien en kritieken'."@nl ;
