Tijdens de oorlog ging zij naar Engeland, waar zij zich actief inzette voor het verzet in Nederland. Het zogenaamde Englandspiel werd haar echter fataal. In de nacht van 13 op 14 februari 1943, toen zij als parachutiste landde om een vluchtroute voor gestrande piloten naar Spanje te organiseren, wachtten de Duitsers haar op. Zij werd overgebracht naar Haaren en later naar Scheveningen. In mei 1944 belandde zij in het concentratiekamp Ravensbrück; eind januari 1945 is zij overgeplaatst naar het concentratiekamp Mauthausen. Als enige van de slachtoffers van het Englandspiel die in Mauthausen terechtkwamen, overleefde zij de oorlog."@nl ;
