  gtm:genoemdNaar "Genoemd naar mr. Antony Christiaan Winand Staring (1767 - 1840), een Nederlandse dichter. Staring bracht zijn jeugd door in Gouderak en Gouda, waar hij de lagere school en de Latijnse school aan de Groeneweg doorliep. In 1783 verliet hij Gouda om rechten te gaan studeren in Harderwijk en landbouwkunde in Göttingen (ten zuiden van Hannover). In 1791 vestigde hij zich op zijn landgoed 'De Wildenborgh' bij Vorden (Gelderland), waar hij zich onder andere wijdde aan landontginning. Als patriot bekleedde hij politieke ambten. Staring was een romantische dichter, wat blijkt uit de onderwerpen waarover hij schreef (legenden, beschrijvingen van de natuur) en de wijze waarop hij dat deed (gevoelig en humoristisch). Enkele werken van zijn hand zijn 'Gedichten', 'De hoofdige boer', 'Marco' en de 'Jaromir'-cyclus."@nl ;
